A Preliminary Roost Assessment or PRA is usually requested by the Local Planning Authority. This survey determines the potential likelihood for Bats to be roosting on site and whether nesting Birds are found on site. The results of this determine the minimum amount of required Bat emergence surveys that are needed which varies between 0 and 3. If roosting Bats are found then a total of 3 surveys and some level of Bat mitigation license and mitigation actions would be required.
